Collection: Doll Therapy

Using dolls, or what can sometimes be referred to as 'child representation', can provide people with dementia an opportunity to interact with a 'lifelike' baby doll in a manner that may be therapeutic to them.

Dolls have been used as an intervention to reduce the impact of behaviours or unmet needs.

The help sheet below  outlines why you might consider introducing a doll as a therapeutic intervention and who is likely to benefit.

It also explains what needs to be considered when introducing a doll to a person, interaction activities and special considerations and precautions.
